It’s been around three years since Bradley Cooper smiled at me from the pages of a magazine, dressed in a steel-blue bomber jacket by American College. I was immediately captivated. I didn’t want the jacket for myself, but I knew it would look perfect on my husband. Of course, it was sold out online, but thanks to American College and more than a few emails (at some point I stopped counting how many), it is now hanging in his closet after all.
For me, this jacket also heralded the return of the bomber jacket: a timeless trend. Not a week goes by in fashion without bloggers or models in blousons, whether looking cool with jeans, wide pants and sneakers, or stylish with a dress or skirt and pumps. I can’t imagine the street style scene without its college style bomber jackets and their striking prints.
I’m a huge fan of Dries Van Noten and his fascinating creations. So, naturally, I chose a bomber jacket from his SS16 collection for this photo shoot. Decorated with a wing pattern typical of the label, this reversible jacket is my absolute favorite bomber jacket of the season…
