Relax in Dubai…

Sorry for the silence on my blog my loves, but if there are a couple of days in the year where my blog rests, then it’s the few days we spend together as a family on vacation. I was so looking forward to a few days of sun and now the holiday is already over. But “Memories will remain” and we’ve taken a lot of them…

If you want to soak up a little sun in March Dubai is a good destination and with a six hour flight from Germany it is a quite relaxed trip, even with kids.

Because I have a soft spot for far Eastern cultures and also hotels in this style, we’ve chosen Dubai Anantara, located on the famous “The Palm”. From Düsseldorf in particular directly to reach (which is a huge relief with children), Dubai really is a detachable task with little dragons and everybody who has ever travelled with kids knows what I’m talking about. After six hours, we arrived in Dubai and were able to stick our feet into the sand…

March is a perfect season for Dubai. It’s not too hot and the water has a pleasant temperature. The hotel offers all the comfort you need and is very popular for parents with children. This always ensures a relaxed atmosphere for everybody. Normally we love smaller hotels and resorts, but despite the size of the hotel everything goes up at Anantara very well.

Holiday means for us to soak up a little sun, but above all spending time together. Of course you can do sightseeing and experience the numerous superlative highlights of the city, ranging from the largest malls in the world to the largest Legoland worldwide (which we have done), but if you want to, you can also enjoy the time very relaxed at the beach or by the poolside.

Unfortunately we had three days with high wind which made hanging around the pool very uncomfortable. Then it is good to have an alternative program, mainly for the kids. So we’ve chosen to visit Legoland Dubai which is only a 30 minute drive away from the hotel.

We spent our evenings in one of the really good restaurants where we could choose between international cuisine at the Beachhouse, Chinese specialties at the Mekong restaurant (where I had the best Green Curry ever) and Australian cuisine. Henry enjoyed all of them and has taken it all great, so it was also very relaxing for Daniel and me to enjoy the good food with a glass of wine.

There is only one thing you have to get used in Dubai. There are still many construction areas in Dubai and everybody who is looking for a view like in the South Pacific will be disappointed here. If you don’t care about this you will have a very good time at the Anantara Dubai and you can spend a few wonderful days-off there…
