No, the slip dress trend is not new and there is no sign that the lingerie trend will end soon. On the contrary, right now for the holiday and party season, the slip dress is on top of the shopping list again. After fresh summer colors and patterned ones, darker Colors and red are trendy now…
The slip dress seems to have a neverending success story. After a fashion hype in the 90s (we all remember Kate Moss in her transparent slip dress from 1993), the lingerie dress unfortunately disappeared from the stage for a long time, but since last year it may hang in every closet again … which I personally love. There is hardly any dress that is more versatile than the slip dress. A dress that always works and does not really need much to make a woman look great.
Especially now for the Holiday- and Party-Season, it is the perfect dress, even if you do not wear a transparent one, but whoever likes it, be brave and do it 🙂 That you can wear your slip dress not only in the evening, but also during the day shows my new look for which I combine a turtleneck sweater with my Topshop slip dress. Combined with Sockboots and your favorite bag and a cozy coat, this look is absolutely suitable for everyday use and for colder winter days.
For those who like it even more street-style-like, you should style it with sneakers and a white tee, wear the dress in combination with a fluffy teddycoat or a boyfriend-style blazer. So there are plenty of ways to wear your slip dress even when you’re not in your bedroom anymore. I’m curious how you like to wear it and I look forward to your feedback my loves. xoxo
